VE day stands for Victory in Europe Day, a key event at the end of WW2 on 8th May 1945.
Victory in Europe Day is etched into the memory of everyone who witnessed it. After nearly six years of war Germany officially surrendered on 7th May 1945 and the conflict was finally over.
On VE day 8th May we honour the courage and sacrifice of those who fought for our freedom. But for many veterans , the challenged didn’t end in 1945-just as they don’t for those who serve today. We stand with those still bear the physical and mental scars of service , ensuring they receive the care and support they need to find the peace they deserve.
Eighty years later, many of todays Armed forces community find life after service equally challenging. Some live with injuries sustained in service, others feel isolated from society or suffer from the mental scars of unimaginable terrors. And some who have worked alongside our troops have been forced to flee war torn countries and are searching for a place to call home.
For many who have served the war may be over , but their battles continue for life.
Together we can help veterans to find the peace they deserve.
